An Adventurer’s Landing Target
Completed in 1929, the Rand Tower was once the tallest structure in downtown Minneapolis. It was designed by the architects Holabird & Root for a World War I aviator named Rufus R. Rand, Jr. who flew in the Lafayette Flying Corps. Today, his adventurous spirit lives on in the style, design, and historical ambiance of the Rand Tower Hotel.
The Rand Tower Hotel includes its own rooftop venue and lobby bar, the latter of which is titled after the famous lion cubs who lived amongst the airmen of the Lafayette Escadrille, Whiskey and Soda. From unique menus and an extensive selection of fine whiskey, to Art Deco designs and sophisticated cocktails, you might say these places have been designed to engage the senses.
At the Rand Tower Hotel you will also discover several inspiring, one of a kind event spaces as well as unique private dining areas. Each is capable of accommodating every kind of celebration and milestone, from birthdays and anniversaries, to engagements and retirements to name a few. Our catering services go above and beyond, mirroring the inventiveness and adventurous mind of Rufus R. Rand in every appetizer, entrée, dessert and cocktail.
The Rand Tower Hotel stands out amongst other Minneapolis hotels for more than just its unmatched luxury, atmosphere, and historical beauty. When you stay with us, you will find attentive service and architecture that intrigues the eyes and mind, sparking both comfort and inspiration with every exploration.
